The Final Step in Writing is the Hardest

A common theme among many of the new writers we speak with is something that will either surprise you or maybe cause you to nod as you recognize the same thing in yourself.

We’ve spoken to writers who finished a book years ago – over a decade, even – but never published it.  Maybe sometimes they’ve sent some pitch letters to a few agents or publishers, and then given up after rejections or non-responses.  Or maybe they’ve never been confident enough to submit, or maybe they’ve never been able to stop rewriting and revising.

We all know about “writer’s block”.  But it seems there’s another type of block, too – a submitting block.

Are you in that situation?  We’re reminded of an expression that should guide much of what you do – “The excellent is the enemy of the good”.  In other words, don’t get stuck in a never-ending loop of indecision or editing or some other type of paralysis, trying to reach an unobtainable level of excellence.  When you reach “a certain point” it is time to move forward with your work.

That’s where we can help you.  You don’t have to keep trying to endlessly tweak and improve your work.  You don’t need to stare at confusing options of how and where you publish it.  Make us part of your publishing effort, and we’ll help you through the block and be with you as much of the rest of the way to having your book published and available for people to buy as you want/need.
